Thinking of getting a Porsche EV? It’s always smart to check the specifications and features before making your decision. thecarspec makes that process easier by giving you access to detailed Porsche specs across a wide range of models, including the brand’s electric lineup.
And if charging access was one of your concerns, there’s good news. Starting September 9, Porsche electric vehicle drivers can use the Tesla Supercharger network through the Tesla app. This update instantly adds about 23,500 public charging stations for Porsche customers. And in the near future, Porsche drivers will also be able to activate charging directly through the My Porsche app.
Porsche is the latest brand to confirm access to Tesla’s Supercharger network. Nearly every major EV maker already shared similar plans, including Ford and Honda. In December 2023, Volkswagen Group of America (Porsche’s parent company) revealed that its brands will join the network by adopting the North American Charging Standard (NACS) in 2025.
Current Porsche EVs will require a NACS DC adapter to connect to Tesla Superchargers — but the good news is, many owners won’t have to pay for it. Starting this fall, all 2026 Porsche Taycan and Macan Electric models will come with a free adapter. Owners of the 2025 Taycan and Macan Electric can reserve their complimentary adapters through the My Porsche app. Meanwhile, drivers of 2024 and earlier Taycan models will need to buy the $185 adapter online or at local Porsche dealerships.
The 2026 Porsche Cayenne EV will launch with a built-in NACS port, eliminating the need for an adapter altogether. Porsche is also rolling out software updates across its lineup to integrate Supercharger navigation. The 2026 Taycan and Macan Electric will already have this feature from the very start, while 2024 and 2025 Macan Electric models will get updates by the end of 2025. Taycan models from 2025 and earlier will follow shortly after.
Almost all EV brands are planning to provide Tesla network access by 2025, so drivers can expect charging to become much more seamless, no matter their vehicle’s make or model.
